Michael Vaughan's woeful batting form continued as he registered another failure for Yorkshire in their match against Sussex at Scarborough.
Yorkshire closed 132 behind Sussex at 133-7. Vaughan, who scored 10 and 0 in his last match, hit three fours but was dropped before edging behind for 19.
Sussex resumed at 203-4 but Andrew Hodd was lbw for 81 and Adil Rashid had Robin Martin-Jenkins caught at slip.
Rashid took 4-56 as Sussex were 265 all out but the Tykes also found it tough.
It was certainly not the sort of innings former England captain Vaughan was looking for as he seeks selection for the side led by Kevin Pietersen in India this winter.
He also had to field questions about a rumour linking him with a move away from Yorkshire but countered: "I am not sure where all this speculation is coming from and I am getting fed up of it.
"I am just looking forward to getting some form with Yorkshire."
Meanwhile, England's selectors will announce the squads for the trip to Antigua to play in the multi-million dollar Stanford match and the seven-match one-day series in India in the next few days.
But they will not name the Test squad "towards the end of the county season" - according to coach Peter Moores.
That leaves a maximum of five further innings for Vaughan to stake a claim, assuming the selectors wait for the conclusion of the final round of matches, starting on 24 September.

Moores added: "With people playing so well it makes selection easier but to be fair to everybody it's important we go away and let the dust settle and look through it all.
"There have been a lot of lads working very hard in domestic cricket to put themselves forward."
Meanwhile, at Scarborough, Yorkshire looked to have taken the initiative after wrapping up the Sussex innings.
Hodd swept Rashid for four then cut Deon Kruis for another boundary but was then trapped by the spinner, who turned one away to take the edge of Martin-Jenkins.
Corey Collymore was run-out when his leading edge off Rashid struck Adam Lyth at silly point and ricocheted into his stumps and the visitors added just 38 runs in 13 overs losing their final six wickets.
After Andrew Gale was an early casualty in the home reply, Vaughan opened his account with a flowing boundary off Pakistan seamer Mohammad Sami.
He edged the next ball to third slip where Michael Yardy dropped the chance, but in the second over after lunch Vaughan fished at one outside off-stump and was caught by a diving Hodd.
Rain followed three overs later and when play resumed after a 26-over delay more wickets quickly followed as the Sussex seamers prospered.
Tim Bresnan played on attempting to withdraw his bat, and spinner Ollie Rayner found turn and bounce to have top-scorer Jacques Rudolph caught behind for 41.
With three overs remaining Rashid edged Martin-Jenkins and was caught low at first slip by Rayner.
