Northants win in Ireland in vain
FRIENDS PROVIDENT TROPHY Dublin:
Northants 205-4 (49.2 overs) beat Ireland 106 all out (36.4 overs) by 99 runsScorecard
Northamptonshire beat Ireland but still missed out on the last eight of the Friends Provident Trophy.
Northants needed eventual group winners Leicestershire to lose but they beat Nottinghamshire to progress.
It made Northants' win in vain after South African duo Andrew Hall and Nicky Boje had starred for them in Ireland.
Hall was the mainstay of the visitors' innings with 72 in a total of 205, while spinner Boje claimed four for 12 to leave the home side 99 runs short.
