Scots collapse to hand Durham win

Scotland saw their hopes of reaching the Friends Provident Trophy knock-out stages end after their batsmen suffered a collapse against Durham.

The hosts restricted Durham to 181-9 in their 50 overs, with Ben Harmison top- scoring with only 29 and John Blain impressing with 3-31 from his 10 overs.

But the Scots struggled in reply and collapsed to 52-5, with only two batsment reaching double figures.

Bad light ended play with Scotland 46 runs short of their amended target.

Callum Thorp took 2-16 from eight overs as the Scotland batsmen toiled in the conditions.

The result brought Scotland back down to earth after their two-run victory over Lancashire at Old Trafford on Monday.
