Notts hold nerve to see off Leics
FRIENDS PROVIDENT TROPHY
Nottinghamshire 198-8 (50 overs) beat Leicestershire 197 (48 overs) by two wickets
Match scorecard
Nottinghamshire climbed above opponents Leicestershire at the top of the Friends Provident Trophy Midlands Division with a two-wicket victory.
Darren Pattinson claimed 4-35 and Samit Patel 3-34 as Nottinghamshire bowled the visitors out for 197, Paul Nixon hitting 75 and Boeta Dippenaar 51.
Matt Wood (50) put on 84 for the first wicket with Will Jefferson for Notts, before James Allenby took four wickets.
But Luke Fletcher hit the winning runs off the last ball of the match.
Allenby's spell of 4-27 from nine overs set up an exciting finish as Adam Voges, Samit Patel, Chris Read and Mark Ealham all departed.
However, Robert Ferley and 19-year-old Fletcher kept their composure to close out the game.
