Bad weather hits Headingley game

LV County Championship D1, Headingley Carnegie, day two (close): Yorkshire 212-8 v Surrey

Yorkshire managed to add just nine runs to their overnight score as the heavy rain which swept across England on Saturday drenched Headingley.

Adil Rashid moved onto 48 not out in the two overs that were possible as Yorkshire reached 212-8.

On Friday County Championship leaders Yorkshire had closed on 203-8 against Surrey in a day that was also cut short by bad light and rain.

Anthony McGrath held their innings together with a fluent 72.
