Surrey falter against seam duo
County Championship D2, Bath, day two (close): Somerset 342 & 148-3 v Surrey 266
Former England batsman Mark Ramprakash made a fluent unbeaten 87 but Somerset dismissed Surrey for 266 and extended their lead to 224 by adding 148-3.
Ramprakash hit 17 fours and a six but seamers Charl Willoughby and Andy Caddick took seven wickets between them on a pitch offering them assistance.
There were 11 fours in Ramprakash's first 50 runs, and he shared 106 in 24 overs with Ali Brown, who smashed 63.
Surrey then lost their final four wickets for one run.
Somerset skipper Cameron White, who had been off the field earlier in the day with a finger injury sustained while fielding, returned to share an unbroken 66 with Matt Wood.
