Durham forced to settle for draw

County Championship D1, Trent Bridge, day four: Durham 404-8d crew with Nottinghamshire 313
Points: Durham 12, Notts 9

Steve Harmison did not bowl at all on the final day as Durham drew with Nottinghamshire in the Division One Championship match at Trent Bridge.

Just 24 overs were bowled in the day to round off a match where so much of the cricket throughout was lost to rain.

But Durham were able to bowl Notts out for 313-9 to get maximum bonus points.

Notts began Saturday with 255-6 on the board but slumped to 285-9 as Graham Onions took two wickets. A last wicket stand of 28 was ended by Ottis Gibson.

He dismissed AJ Harris for 19, leaving Ryan Sidebottom unbeaten on 18.

Harmison bowled just 15 overs in the innings after his side had declared on 404-8, but was the only one of five Durham bowlers to be wicketless.
