Ryder handed New Zealand recall
Fifth one-day international, Napier:
New Zealand v West Indies
Match starts at 2300 GMT on Monday
Jesse Ryder has been recalled by New Zealand for the fifth and final one-day international against the West Indies.
The 24-year-old was dropped for Saturday's fourth match after missing a meeting and training session, following a night out drinking in Wellington.
New Zealand coach Andy Moles said he had no hesitation in recalling the powerful left-handed batsman for Tuesday's series decider in Napier.
"Jesse is a match winner opening the batting," said Moles.
"He and Brendon (McCullum) are a formidable pair."
Ryder, who has apologised, has a history of drink-related incidents and a chequered disciplinary record.
Last February he had to have surgery on his hand after punching a window in the door of a Christchurch nightclub, an injury which ruled him out of the tour of England in May.
His record also includes refusing to play for New Zealand A in 2007 and failing to turn up for a World Cup training camp last year.
"Jesse assures us it's a thing of the past and we have to move on with that in mind," Moles said.
Mathew Sinclair, who replaced Ryder in Auckland for the washed-out fourth ODI, drops out of the squad for Tuesday's match.
Martin Guptill, who scored a century on debut in Auckland after being promoted to open, moves to number three.
The series is level at 1-1, with two of the previous four matches having been washed out.
