Left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan claimed his maiden five-wicket haul in Tests as Bangladesh dominated day two of the second Test against New Zealand.
The 21-year-old finished with 6-31 to leave the tourists reeling at 155-9 in reply to Bangladesh's 245.
Black Caps skipper Daniel Vettori took 5-59 in the Bangladesh innings and was unbeaten on 48 at the end of the day.
But it was his Bangladesh counterpart Shakib, better known as a batsman, who was the star of the show.
Going into the match his previous Test-best was 2-67 against the same opponents at Wellington in January and he had taken just three wickets in total in his six Tests.
Shakib removed Jamie How (16) and debutant Jesse Ryder (one) in successive overs before trapping Aaron Redmond for 19 as he wrestled back the initiative for the home team.
Shakib then got the prized wickets of Brendon McCullum (25) and Jacob Oram (0) to leave New Zealand in tatters at 100-7.
Vettori and Kyle Mills managed to offer some resistance, adding 26 for the eighth wicket before Shakib struck again, with Mills edging to the keeper, as the hosts ended well on top.
That had looked unlikely when they were dismissed for just 245, losing their last six wickets for just 57 runs.
Vettori, 29, dismissed Rahim (79), Mashrafe Mortaza (0) and Abdur Razzak (11) as he claimed 5-59, his 16th five-wicket Test haul.
