Madeley show county league teeth

Madeley have kept up the pressure on the Shropshire League's early leaders Reman's after defeating Bomere Heath.

Madeley crushed their opponents by 110 runs, as Steve Jones top-scored with 87 in their 239-7, with Bomere then skittled for 129.

Reman's won again, by seven wickets against Ludlow. Shane Gwilt took 5-28 as Ludlow struggled to 91. Reman's then made 95-3.

Cameron Rope hit 60 and then took 6-37 as Wem (215-6) beat Shelton (132).

Craig Jones fired an unbeaten 63 in Quatt's 200-4 in reply to a spirited 196-8 from Welshpool (Chris Owen 79).

Broseley cruised to victory over league newcomers Much Wenlock. Shivraj Singh Kehwar took 4-44 as Wenlock made 174-8, and the same player was unbeaten on 83 as they reached 175 without losing either of their openers.

Albrighton's Matt Wright took 6-25 as Newtown slipped to 109 all out, and in reply Steve Cowie made 49 as Albrighton easily reached their victory target on 110-2.
