Lincolnshire extend winning start

Lincolnshire Cricket Team

Lincolnshire booked their place in the quarter finals of the MCCA Knock-Out Trophy with a 48-run win against Buckinghamshire at Bracebridge Heath.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Rob Cook's men were all out for 265 off the final ball.

Matthew Dowman hit 65, his second half century of the season, while Martyn Dobson made 35.

In reply Buckinghamshire were all out for 217, Dobson and Elliot Wilson both taking three wickets.

"I think we are finally starting to show our potential as a one day side"
Mark Fell

The victory has left Lincolnshire top of Group Four of the MCCA Knockout.

And a win against Wales at Abergavenny on Sunday will guarantee a home quarter-final, something that captain Rob Cook believes would be a great help.

"Home advantage is always good," he said. "You get your home crowd in.

"And the travelling in Minor Counties cricket does take it out of you".

Lincolnshire Director of Cricket Mark Fell told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "Three on the trot is great. I think we are finally starting to show our potential as a one-day side.

"A lot of credit has to go to Cookie and his captaincy".
