Injury heartache for Dutch bowler
Netherlands bowler Edgar Schiferli's dreams of playing in his second World Cup appeared to be over on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old injured his left hamstring while warming up for the practice game against India at the Trelawny stadium in Jamaica.
"He is our experienced opening bowler and it doesn't look good," team manager Hans Mulder told Reuters news agency.
Mulder felt the injury looked serious enough to end Schiferli's Cup hopes, and he may now replaced in the squad.
Netherlands are in group A with champions Australia, world number ones South Africa and the leading qualifier Scotland.
