Srinath's World Cup ended in disappointment
The 33-year-old pace bowler quit Test cricket a year ago, saying he wanted to focus on the World Cup, but he was persuaded to return to the five-day game last October.
He played in all 11 of India's World Cup matches, taking 16 wickets at an average of 23.06, but it was not enough to avoid a 125-run defeat to Australia in the final.
"I need to go back home and give [retirement] a serious thought," Srinath said as he arrived home in Bangalore.
He described the tournament as a "satisfying" experience for him and the team but "it was unfortunate that we could not win the World Cup".
Srinath has already committed to play a month of county cricket for Durham, whose other overseas players are on international duty in April and May.
Leg-spinner Anil Kumble said on Wednesday he had also yet to decide on his future.
With seven specialist batsmen in the team, Kumble featured in just three World Cup matches, taking five wickets.
