Jamie Cox has his eyes set on a British title fight after extending his perfect start to professional boxing.
The Swindon fighter, 21, beat Billy Smith on a unanimous points decision in Birmingham on Saturday.
Welterweight Cox won a gold medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and told BBC Radio Swindon he is almost ready for the next step.
"I want to be fighting for a British title in two or three fights time."
"I'm ready for that step up but I'm not going to start winding myself up about it while I'm still learning," he continued.
"Every fight I'm learning to pick my shots more and when I got cut I adapted to the situation well"
Cox won all six rounds against his journeyman opponent from Stourport, who became the sixth scalp of his professional career.
"It was a real good, educational fight. I'm glad it went to six rounds because it showed I had the stamina.
"I could have lasted double that, no problem. Every fight I'm learning to pick my shots more and when I got cut I adapted to the situation well," Cox added.
"The first round I hurt him to the body and from then on he was just trying to stay there, to survive. He was a tough fighter though, I hit him with everything to the body and he took it very well."
Cox is expecting his next fight to take place in September.
