Amir Khan will face US-based, Irish lightweight Oisin Fagan on his return to the ring on 6 December.
The Bolton boxer will feature on the undercard of Nicky Cook's defence of his WBO super-featherweight belt at London's ExCeL Arena.
It will be Khan's first fight since a first round knockout defeat by Breidis Prescott in Manchester last month.
But Khan will not have his new trainer Freddie Roach in his corner when he meets Fagan.
Roach will instead be working for Manny Pacquiao when the Filipino meets Oscar de la Hoya on the same night in Las Vegas.
Promoter Frank Warren's matchmaker Dean Powell will take charge of Khan's corner, as he did against Michael Gomez in June.

Cuban Jorge Rubio was hired before the Prescott fight but sacked after the stunning defeat in Manchester, Khan's first as a professional.
Khan has been sparring with Pacquiao at Roach's Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles and will remain in California until late November.
"It's been great out here, I'm not distracted with anything outside of boxing and all I do is train and learn," said the 21-year-old.
"I'm working on so much stuff with Freddie that I'm going home more mentally tired than physically tired.
"Although the loss to Prescott was a big blow, it was perhaps the best thing that could have happened to me because it made me realise I had to change things and I've made the right move to Freddie.
"I'm really looking forward to my comeback fight and showing everyone that I am back and have even more determination to reach the top."
Fagan, 34, has fought 27 times as a professional, winning 22, but has only gone 12 rounds once.
He has been stopped just once, in 2003, and will provide a decent test for Khan on his comeback.

"If I'd just got knocked out in the fashion that Amir did, that would be all I could think about," said Fagan.
"He must have nightmares about that every second of the day.
"I'm thinking that anytime he gets a good dig on that chin he has to be thinking about that knockout.
"I'm not a power puncher but I give everybody a good go. I've fought world champions and I've been unlucky not to end up with a win."
