Kevin McIntyre successfully defended his British welterweight title with a points victory over fellow Scot Kevin Anderson in Glasgow.
The 29-year-old had taken Anderson's belt in Irvine last November and proved too strong again at the Kelvin Hall.
After a spirited start by Anderson, McIntyre took the third round and more of his punches found the target as the fight progressed.
McIntyre avoided trouble in the 12th and final round to retain his title.
The champion said he was delighted to beat his 24-year-old opponent for the second time.
"I think I showed tonight I am a good boxer"
"I needed to prove the last fight wasn't a fluke," said McIntyre.
"Anderson showed that he might have been under par in the first fight but he wasn't tonight, he showed that he was a tough fighter.
"I felt I was getting the better of him in the clinches and I think the referee was breaking us up too quickly.
"But I was catching him on the break and I think I showed tonight I am a good boxer."
Anderson's manager Tommy Gilmour conceded that the defeat was a setback for the Fife boxer.
"McIntyre has a mandatory defence to make and there are three or four other boxers waiting for their chance so it could be a while before Kevin gets another title shot," Gilmour said.
"But he's far from finished and we'll get him on the undercard of some forthcoming shows."
