Australia's Anthony Mundine wants another crack at Denmark's Mikkel Kessler's WBA super middleweight title after his latest victory.
The former champion and ex-rugby league player beat Danny Green by a unanimous points decision in front of 30,000 people at the Sydney Football Stadium.
The fight also set a new Australian record for TV pay-per-view revenue.
Kessler has yet to agree another bout with Mundine, who he defeated on points in June 2005.
"It was a close fight last time, he's a great fighter," said the 30-year-old.
"I think he's the best out there at the moment, but I showed in the first fight that I can match it with him."
Mundine improved his record to 26-3 by beating Green, whose two previous losses were in WBC title bouts against Markus Beyer.
The pair first began verbal sparring six years ago, when Mundine first discussed switching from rugby league to boxing.
Green, 33, said: "A lot has been said in the past, but he just fought a better fight, he just beat me fair and square."
