Catley foiled again

Bristol super-middleweight Glenn Catley was beaten for the second time in his attempt to take the European title.

He lost his rematch against Danilo Haussler in Chemnitz, Germany on a fifth round technical decision.

The referee stopped the action after an accidental headbutt and the bout was decided by the judges scorecards, which favoured the German.

Haussler, who floored Catley in round one, beat the Englishman on a controversial decision last year in Frankfurt.

Catley, 30, pushed Richie Woodhall to the limit in his first world title bid in September 1998.

The Bristol man claimed the WBC belt two years later with a brilliant final-round stoppage of Woodhall's German conqueror Markus Beyer.

But he lost it in his first defence in South Africa to Dingaan Thobela.
