Harrison opponent banned

A random drugs test after the Essex-based fighter's points loss to Audley Harrison in July showed traces of banned substance 3-Hydroxystanozolol.

Negus then failed to appear for a second test in September, despite the BBBC's efforts to contact him.

A BBBC statement read: "He failed to respond to correspondence, did not appear and the board has been unsuccessful in their efforts to locate him.

"Mr Negus is believed to have been out of the country. Accordingly a further hearing has been arranged under the same regulation for 13 November.

"In the absence of any contact from Mr Negus, the stewards of the BBBC will proceed to determine the matter."

Harrison beat Negus by 59 points to 55 at Wembley Conference Centre on 10 July for the Olympic gold medallist's sixth professional win.
