Holyfield wants title shot

Evander Holyfield wants another shot at the heavyweight title before retiring.

The former world champion insisted he was still a realistic challenger to Lennox Lewis despite being just one year away from his 40th birthday.

He told the Daily Express: "My goal is to be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

"My main objective is to fight for a title and I want to be back in the ring some time in November."

Holyfield must first meet Mike Tyson before having the opportunity to tackle Lewis.

The last time they met five years ago, Tyson was disqualified after biting a chunk out of Holyfield's ear.

Holyfield, though, remains unperturbed about stepping into the ring with his former opponent.

He explained: "If fighting Mike Tyson would get me to that point (of fighting Lewis) then fine.

"If we fight for the right to fight Lennox Lewis, I'll do that too."
