Sprinter Tyson Gay should be fully fit for next year's outdoor season after doctors confirmed surgery on the American's groin had been a success.
The 27-year-old struggled with the injury all summer but still ran 9.71s in the World Championships to win silver behind Jamaican Usain Bolt.
He will start light training in December after a month's rehabilitation and be fully recovered for next summer.
Discussions over Gay running in the new Diamond League were also continuing.
The Kentucky-born athlete was second in the 100m at the Worlds in Berlin, before equalling the second-fastest 100m of all time clocking a national record 9.69s in Shanghai in September.

Following golds in the 100m, 200m and 4x100 relay at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, Gay has been overshadowed by the emergence of Bolt and admitted he had been "running on one leg" during the latter stages of the 2009 season.
After saying in August that an operation would help him "get back to my best", Gay underwent "minor" surgery on Friday on both sides of his groin in Philadelphia.
"The doctor (William Meyers) was really, really happy with the surgery and Tyson should start walking on Saturday," Gay's manager Mark Wetmore said.
Gay's rivalry with Bolt over the 100m and 200m looks set to continue in the Diamond league next summer - the new-look Golden League which will cover Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the United States.
"The idea is to have both run seven Diamond League meets, possibly even eight with a couple of a match-ups between the two throughout the year," Wetmore addded.
"And to put those match-ups on the calendar early. The plan is to have that done by the IAAF (International governing body) Gala on 22 November in Monaco."
