Capes to coach throwing talents

Geoff Capes

Geoff Capes is in Boston this Sunday to coach athletes at Lincolnshire's first ever throws academy.

The event is part of an initiative by the Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, to find the next Olympic champion in either discus, hammer, javelin or shot.

Dave Carter from the partnership, told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We've had about 170 people come to various events around the county."

"We're now bringing them together under the guidance of Geoff."

Capes will be helped on the coaching side by Graeme Stark , who is a former Scottish indoor shot put champion.

The Lincolnshire throws academy will be held on Sunday at the Princess Royal Sports Arena at 1000 BST.
