Collins secures silver medal

Noel Collins displays his silver medal Noel Collins has won a silver medal in the 2000 metres steeplechase at the European Youth Olympics in Belgrade, setting a new personal best.

His time of 5.52.06 was 14 seconds faster than he had run before.

The Omagh Harriers athlete, who is competing for Ireland, almost took the gold but narrowly lost out to Belgian athlete Andreas Van Ham.

Collins is one of the most promising athletes in the country with a string of records and titles to his name.
