Farah in fine form on Irish roads
Mo Farah equalled Rob Denmark's British 5km road running record in County Donegal, Ireland, on Boxing Day.
The European cross country champion won in a time of 13 minutes 29.68 seconds which, in accordance with regulations, was rounded up to 13 mins 30 secs.
"I didn't know I was on record pace but with three kms remaining I knew I was running sub-14 minute pace," he said.
Farah ends the 2006 season as the fastest British athlete at 3,000m, 5,000m, 5km road and 10km road.
