Yelling suffers after fast start
Liz Yelling paid the price for going off too quickly and finished in eighth place in the 26th Cross Internacional de Venta de Banos in Spain.
Ethiopia's Gelete Burika won the 6,640-metre race in a time of 21 minutes five seconds, some 15 seconds clear of France's Bouchra Ghezielle.
Yelling started to struggle halfway through and slipped down the field to finish in 21:49.
British number one Mo Farah came sixth in the men's 10,680m contest.
Alberto Garcia finished in 31:34 to claim a home victory by four seconds ahead of fellow Spaniard Juan Carlos de la Ossa.
