Best chest forward: Jones (left) thinks Wales will qualify
Leeds United midfielder Matthew Jones is raring to go after his successful injury comeback against 1860 Munich on Wednesday night.

The Leeds man is also in Mark Hughes' squad for Wales' game against Belarus on 2 September.

Leeds have now qualified for the Champions League and Jones is sure Wales can match that success.

"It will be great to be another Welshman in the Champions League along with the likes of Giggsy, but I am sure Wales will do just as well," he said.

"I have high expectations, I set my targets high and I am sure Wales will qualify for the World Cup," he explained.

Team-sheet

Fame has come quickly to Jones at club and international level and he was grateful to both his managers.

"It is nice to notice Mark Hughes has my name down on the team-sheet, I have come through the under 18 and then under 21 levels so quickly, it is unbelievable," Jones said.

"And it is frightening the amount of faith David O'Leary has in me, I have been out for eight weeks and then I am straight back in to a Champions League qualifier - unbelievable," he enthused.

The prospect of European action for Leeds and World Cup qualifiers for Wales filled him with excitement.

""It is a big thrill, it is another step on the ladder, another benefit to my career and I just need to take it all in," he said.
