Welsh swimming sensation David Davies is hoping to boost his ever growing reputation at July's World Championships.
The World Championships run from 13 -27 July in Barcelona
The 18-year-old schoolboy from Penarth was named in the 32-strong British squad on Thursday, and is relishing the prospect of beating the world's best swimmers.
"It's been the main target from the start of the year," Davies told BBC Sport. "I'm really pleased and hoping to do a good job out there."
Davies took a staggering 11.84 seconds off his own Welsh record in March with a time of 15 minutes 6.03secs as he finished second in the 1500m freestyle at the British Championships.
His preparations for the world championships start immediately with a week-long warm weather training course in Malta.
And, if all goes well, he expects to break the 15 minute barrier for the first time in Barcelona.
He said: "I'm ranked in the top eight in the 1500m freestyle so I hope to reach the final.
"I also want to improve my personal best time and hopefully go under 15 minutes."
As well as celebrating his inclusion in the British squad, Davies was also toasting the end of his A-level exams.
"It's been a tough year because I've had to fit my training in Cardiff around my school work," admitted Davies.
"But I'm confident I'll be able to do well in Barcelona."
