Jackson's best 'set to fall'
Colin Jackson shows off the world record time in Stuttgart
Colin Jackson broke the world record in 1993
American Allen Johnson says he thinks Colin Jackson's nine-year-old world 110m hurdles record will be beaten this season.

Jackson set the mark of 12.91 seconds when winning the world title at Stuttgart in 1993, and it has stood the test of the best ever since.

But Johnson, who has been in impressive form this campaign, believes it will go to one of three athletes - himself, Welsh star Jackson or Olympic champion Anier Garcia.

American hurdler Allen Johnson
Johnson has been in excellent form this season

"This is as good a year as any for breaking the world record," he said.

"Everyone's running fast, and that will push everyone else. That's what you need to break a world record."

So far, Garcia has been quickest this season, winning at Lausanne on Tuesday with a seasonal world best of 13.03.

He was .01 faster than the previous best set by Johnson, the 1996 Olympic champion, in April.

Johnson won at the Golden League meet in Oslo last week, but the 110 hurdles doesn't count for the series jackpot. The American said the event was underrated.

"We don't get credit for running fast," Johnson said. "For us to go under 13 seconds is crazy fast."
