League of Wales chaos looms
League of Wales clubs "with grounds adjacent to grazing areas" will not be allowed to play this weekend, as the foot-and mouth crisis hits Welsh sport.

League secretary John Deakin said:"It is the worst fixture crsis that I have experienced in my nine years in the job.

"It is not unmanagable, but if there are wholesale postponements it could be a very different situation."

The league had originally pencilled in 28 April 2001 for the completion of games, but Deakin admitted this date could be subject to change.

Bangor, Oswestry and Caersws already have as many as six games in hand over other sides in the league and all three are in areas close to foot-and-mouth outbreaks.
