Frozen pitches have led to a glut of postponements

The cold snap has destoyed the weekend's sporting programme in Wales, with all but one of the games in the Principality Cup sixth round called off.

The appetising clash between high-flying first-division side Aberavon and bottom Welsh-Scottish league side Cross Keys will now be served at a later date, after ice and snow at the Talbot Athletic Ground forced a postponement on Friday morning.

The clash of the Pontys (Pontyberem v Pontypridd) - and Tylorstown v Rhmney have gone the same way, while Neath have confirmed their tie with Whitland will go ahead on 6 January.

Bedwas hope to play their money-spinning tie with Cardiff on Sunday.

Nationwide League

Cardiff City's Third Division game with Blackpool at Bloomfield Road has been called off, so too Swansea's home match against Brentford. And the Wrexham game was the last to be called off late on Friday afternoon.

All the games in the League of Wales are called off, as are ties involving Colwyn Bay, Merthyr and Newport.
