Harry Gration presenting BBC North's Super League Show
Harry Gration presents both The Super League Show and the BBC's evening regional magazine Look North.

Bradford-born Gration started his career as a history teacher at a Leeds school. While teaching, he persuaded Radio Leeds to let him commentate on rugby league matches. For a while, he taught during the day and did sports commentaries in the evenings.

When Radio Leeds offered him a three-month contract as sports editor, he took a chance and gave up his job.

There was no looking back. Gration embarked on a successful career in broadcasting that has seen him work on BBC Radio and TV both locally and nationally on programmes such as Radio 4's Today programme, Match of the Day, Grandstand, Sportsnight and South Today, as well as Look North.

After his first spell on Look North, he left in 1994 to work for the Rugby League as their Public Affairs Executive, before returning to broadcasting a year later.

He has also worked on the BBC's Olympic and Commonwealth Games coverage, most recently at Sydney 2000, where he commentated on judo and taekwondo.

Harry's an award winner to boot - he has been honoured twice by the Royal Television Society for his sports documentaries.
