Sports Personality of the Year
Venue: Sheffield Arena Date: Sunday, 13 December Time: 1900 GMT Coverage: Live on BBC One, BBC Radio 5 Live & BBC Sport website.
We will be dedicating a day to one of the top 10 contenders from 2-11 December (in alphabetical order).
Tom Daley sensationally became a world champion this year - at the tender age of 15 years and 61 days.
When most teenagers would be studying at school, Daley was ruling the world thanks to an incredible display of dives in the 10m platform event in Rome.
The 2007 Young Sports Personality Of The Year, who is in the running for the award this year too, beat a top class field which included Olympic champion Matt Mitcham.
He saved the best for last thanks to a flawless final dive which moved him up from third to first.
Daley grew up in Plymouth and began diving in 2001 at the city's club and just a year later he picked up a medal at the National Novice Championships.
In 2004 and at the age of 10, Daley won the platform competition in the under-18 category at the National Junior - the youngest ever winner.
