Robinho arrival heralds new era for City
It was all change at Manchester City as they became known as "the richest club in the world" after being taken over by Abu Dhabi United Group, backed by billionaire Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The takeover happened just days before the summer transfer window closed, giving City ample time to throw their new weight around by signing Robinho for a reported £32.5m - a British transfer fee record.
The signing happened on transfer deadline day, with City beating Chelsea to land the Brazilian.
Meanwhile, Manchester United finally captured Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham in a deal worth £30.75m.
