Nominations for the 2005 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award have now closed. Thank you to everyone who has registered their choice.
A shortlist of contenders will be announced during the awards programme on BBC One on Sunday (2000GMT).
Viewers will be invited to vote for their favourite from the shortlist via phone, text or interactive television.
Several other awards will also given out, including Overseas Personality, Team and Coach of the Year.
Sue Barker and Gary Lineker will host the programme, live from BBC Television Centre, with some of the biggest stars from the world of sport in attendance.
