What is Sport Relief?
Sport Relief is a joint venture between BBC Sport and Comic Relief. It aims to bring the worlds of sport and entertainment together to raise much needed cash to help vulnerable people leading tough lives here at home and in the poorest countries in the world.
Where does the money go?
So far Sport Relief has raised over £31 million pounds, which has been shared between projects in the UK and vulnerable people leading tough lives in the poorest countries in the world.
What is the Sport Relief Mile?
The Sport Relief Mile is the biggest mass participation mile in history! We want as many people as possible to sign up to 'Go The Extra Mile' for Sport Relief.
All you have to do is complete a mile - it's that simple.
You can walk, run, hop, skip, jump even juggle your way to that magic mile mark - it's up to you.
Last time around 81,000 people of all ages and abilities completed a mile so there is no reason why anyone can't take part.
There will be 15 giant national Miles across the UK on July 15th.
What if I can't make it to a National Mile?
If you can't make it down to a National Mile don't worry there could well be a Sport Relief local mile event right on your doorstep.
To find your nearest local Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile please visit

You can search by entering your postcode and find the right Sport Relief Mile for you.
Are there any age restrictions?
We don't have any age restrictions but we do ask people to be sensible. If you are bringing very young children or prams we ask you to move toward the back of the queue of participants and let faster Milers go off first.
How do I sign up for the Sport Relief Mile?
To sign up all you have to do is call 0845 6058000 and leave your details to get a Sport Relief Mile entry kit. Including your all important first red sock! The kit costs £5 for adults and £2 for kids. The reason for charging is to cover the cost of the kits and this charge ensures that every penny you raise in sponsorship goes directly to good causes.
What is the red sock?
When you sign up to do the Mile your pack will contain a red sock - like a red nose, but for your foot! You can wear this on the big day and be part of the red-ankled army. When you have completed a mile, you get the second sock to make a perfect pair and show the world you have socked it to poverty by doing the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile.
Who, or what, is Roger!
Roger is the red runner on the Sport Relief logo. And in badge form, is all set to be the accessory necessity of summer 2006. It can be fitted to your favourite pair of trainers, flip flops or shoes; wear it as a bracelet; or attach it to your bag or mobile. It will show everybody that you are ready to sock it to poverty and make the world miles better with Sport Relief.
Who took part last time round?
Everybody! where do we start? Prince William went the extra mile in 2004, as did Prime Minister Tony Blair, Olympic legend Sir Steven Redgrave, the list goes on and on... .
David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and a whole host of stars from the worlds of sport and entertainment have always backed Sport Relief.
This year there will be more famous faces than ever taking part in the Mile events and taking part in the TV programme on the night.
