Inside Sport: your reaction

Inside Sport
Inside Sport is the BBC's new Monday night sports news magazine show hosted by Gabby Logan, with a second edition on Sunday.

Editor Amanda Farnsworth has been answering your points about the show on our editors' blog.

YOUR FEEDBACK

The biggest bike race in the world's about to hit our shores on July 7th in London, will Inside Sport be covering this magnificent event prior to its arrival?
Chris Novak, United Kingdom

Excellent show. Strong editorial content. Great set well directed. Steve Bunce was good on Five Live and is a find for this show.
Philip Thickett, UK

Hi, as a British Indian I am sick to the back teeth of no Indians in football and feel that this would make a very good programme.
Kully Virdee, England

You said the FA Cup final will be the first cup final at the new ground? Next Saturday is the FA Vase final, the first final to be staged there.
Robert Furnell, England

Do you have any plans to cover Rugby League on the show?
Simon Bishop, UK
Do you have any plans to cover Rugby League on the show? You say on the website you will not ignore big stories in rugby or football, yet you failed to even mention the Millennium Magic weekend that took place in Cardiff.
Simon Bishop, UK

Hi Gaby, really like the show, your presenting knocks spots off Lineker. Good job!
David Kirby, UK

Suits me down to the ground. Inside Sport's the kind of magazine sports show that's perfectly evolved from Grandstand. Lots of varied sports covered with the chat like Focus. And you've got to enjoy watching Bunce.
David Eyres, England

A decent show, benefited from discussing a range of sports. Needs to be shown earlier, perhaps straight after the news?
Quartz, UK

Hi Gaby, just want to say excellent show format you got your creative hands on. From a Rugby Union & Wasps fan's point of view, let us hope you have plans do a feature about the forthcoming Heineken Cup. I am sure Mr Logan will be more than happy give you some help! He was so optimistic at the beginning of the Heineken cup and predicted his former club to win this year's tournament. Fantastic show and keep up the good work.
Giri Ganeshwaran, Middlesex

What motorsport items can we expect? Anything on Lewis Hamilton and his stunning F1 debut, James Toseland and his performances in World Superbikes or even Andy Priaulx who enters this season looking for his third consecutive world title in the WTCC? Some rallying would be good.
Russ Otway, Warwickshire

What's the difference between the BBC One, BBC Two & BBC World editions & which show is on the video podcast?
Jeffrey Miles, Australia

Why is there no line to this site from the main BBC sport homepage?
Brian Starwy, England

I'm sure that Alan Pardew must be ecstatic that a consortium is trying to take over a club that he is managing for the second time in a year. Inevitably, the press will again speculate that his position is under threat by other managers that the board think would be more suitable for the job. He must think he's cursed.
Matt Finn, England

The show felt much more sensible
Laura, UK
Just wanted to say how much better I thought the second episode was. I watched the first episode last Monday and enjoyed the features (especially the sailing one) and the discussion but got the impression, like many others, that the show was rather rushed in its pacing. This time round the pace of the show felt much more sensible, allowing for more analysis of interesting stories, but still maintained its breadth of discussion. I particularly enjoyed your feature on the way in which injured members of the armed forces are being offered the opportunity to become athletes this week - more of this kind of feature please!
Laura, UK

Your feedback about Mick Brennan:

This man is an inspiration; he is someone I will always look to in times of adversity!
Steve, England

Congrats, I hope you make it. You represent every hard working person in this country.
Alun T, Wales

I was really taken by the article on Mick Brennan by Mathew Pinsent. I have a question; why can't disabled rowers such as Sgt Brennan compete with fully able-bodied rowers? I believe that the mechanical advantage of a sliding seat can be transferred to the oar and rollocks.
Ben Stuart, Malta G.C.

YOUR FEEDBACK FROM THE FIRST SHOW

Why is it on so late on a Monday?
Nick Earl, England

I hope you can highlight netball in one of your shows, especially as we are third in the world.
Wendy Modeste, England

Will you be looking at the medical aspect of injury recovery and some of the recovery rates of players?
Andrew Seary, Wales

Sadly, it seems this programme will be like all the rest, about men's sport with a token feature on women when the fancy takes them. The sailing stuff was interesting but surely winning the UEFA CUP was worth a feature - I know if the men had done it we would've heard of nothing else.
Liz Evans, England

Wasn't this a bad example to viewers?
David Peacock, UK
In tonight's Inside Sport Gabby interviewed John Terry in the back of a car. Both of them were not wearing their seatbelts, wasn't this unsafe and a bad example to viewers?
David Peacock, United Kingdom

What about James Toseland, a win and a 2nd at Assen extending his lead in the WOrld Superbike Championship?
Tim, UK

Excellent show, very interesting. Gabby Logan is a great presenter and Steve Bunce is a legend. Can't wait for next week.
Ian Hart, England

How about showing Inside Sport on BBC World? It would complement the other sports related programs shown there.
Andrew, Canada

I think the show is wonderful and shows a variety of coverage, I also enjoy the rumour mills that the journalists do on the show.
Jag Dhindsa, England UK

Enjoyed the show, something like this is well overdue on British TV. I would make one criticism, that the debates weren't really debates, they just boiled down to the two pundits shouting over each other as well as Gabby and Mihir Bose.
Andrew Mizner, UK

I would have liked to have seen more rugby union coverage on Inside Sport last night especially after the dramatic relegation of Northampton on the last match of the season.
Hannah Collins, England

It was like listening to Radio1 news
James Smith, Bristol
Gabby please take a breath when reading the script, it was like listening to Radio1 news for 45 minutes - not easy!
James Smith, Bristol, England

Stop trying to do fancy camera moves, it's a sports show not a movie. If you could mention every week in a summary at least rugby, football, golf, cricket and boxing I think most people would be happy.
Faye, England

Show some Gaelic Football and/or Hurling - maybe follow a couple of team through to the Finals at Croke Park in Sept - lots of scope for compare/contrast with Premiership - mixed non-segregated crowds, amateur sportsmen giving it their all, tremendous bond with the supporters, fantastic history, above all, great sport - you must have people in BBC NI who could run with it
John Mulcahy

Good time spent on interviews - like the John Terry and Sailing pieces but maybe need to mention a few more things that have actually happened this week and comment on them.
Frances Thorpe, UK

There was no mention of the two silver medals won by the British Gymnastics Team over the weekend. This is a fantastic achievement by the squad and deserves a mention on a programme which is dedicated to sport.
Lisa, Middlesex

Great to see a feature on sailing for a change
Sue Hill, England
Great to see a feature on sailing for a change on a Sports Programme instead of just football. Shame about the negative comments from Des Kelly though.
Sue Hill, England

My only complaint is that there was no mention of the deaths over recent days of former England cricketers Les Jackson and Tom Cartwright, two excellent county cricketers who were overlooked too often by the selectors.
Mark Bailey, England

Instead of the Sunday program, can we have the program shown five nights a week?
Stephen Bush, England

It would be great if Inside Sport covered Speedway at some time.
Helen Clough, England

REACTION TO SUNDAY'S EDITION

Will you be able to look into lower county cricket teams?
Steven

Fantastic! At long last, a decent sports show with debate and covering a wide range of topics. Thanks, you've made a sport fan very happy.
Paul Warner, England

Just watched the first programme - great to see Gabby showing some of her real potential. One criticism - I am all for including people with challenging views but why are we tolerating poor jokes about athlete's complexions?
Martin Stockley

Just saw Matt Pinsent's bit about using a Swiss Ball. The paralympic guy was obviously amazing and Andy Murray compared with us mere mortals was excellent but I do recall seeing a clip of Austin Healey doing dumbbell squats on one. It might be interesting to find out if he could still do it.
Keith Allton, Nottinghamshire

We have a medal winner trying for another gold and someone decides it's OK to write her out because she is breast feeding? Rubbish. Gaby Logan should have put him in his place.
Julie Phillips, Scotland

The John Terry interview was interesting and revealing
Antony Forst, UK
A welcome new show, ably presented by Gabby. The John Terry interview was interesting and revealing too. I am glad also that a wide variety of sports are covered. The piece about the female sailing teams was very good too.
Antony Forst, UK

The show has good, varied content, I can see the show going a long way. I shall be a regular viewer.
Trevor Haydock, England

Disgusted that once again all trailers only feature male athletes with no female or youth sports people. This follows the current trend to keep women in evening dress in the front of the paper rather than entering the rareified heights of the sports pages, which should be renamed male sports pages in the interest of trade descriptions.
Nuala OSullivan, England

The show prioritized England and English sports. I hope that the next show will show some of the Celtic nations' sports news.
Aled Thomas, Wales

While the timing on a Monday is a little annoying the programme on a Sunday is excellent. Finally, it's great that a presenter as knowledgeable as Gabby gets to front a programme such as this.
Dave Burgess, United Kingdom
