Jeffers happy to stay
Arsenal's Francis Jeffers
Jeffers scored on his England debut against Australia
Football Focus, BBC One, Saturday 22 February 1210-1300 GMT

Francis Jeffers has had few opportunities to impress since Arsene Wenger brought him to Highbury to be Arsenal's 'fox in the box' in June 2001.

But he told Football Focus he is over his injuries and willing to sit and wait for the chances to come.

"I'm happy to fight for my place. I want to be part of the success of this club," said Jeffers.

A crippling ankle injury limited Jeffers to just 10 appearances last season, seven of them as a substitute.

And with Thierry Henry, Sylvain Wiltord, Kanu and Dennis Bergkamp at Wenger's disposal, Jeffers' opportunities remain limited at Highbury.

But Jeffers has begun to play an important part in Arsenal's squad rotation policy of late and recently made his England debut against Australia.

Despite an embarrassing 3-1 loss at Upton Park, Jeffers notched a goal and says it was an "amazing" experience - and one that he will want to repeat.
