Scotland triumphed against England in 2000
Six Nations from 3 February-8 April 2001

Rugby fans can follow every classic clash of the Six Nations - the northern hemisphere's premier international rugby competition - live across television, radio and online.

Grandstand will be there to bring the unique atmosphere of twelve of the tournament's 15 matches.

Viewers can watch live on BBC Television, hosted by BBC Sport's front row of Steve Rider and John Inverdale.

With the BBC you're as close as you can get to every scrum, line out and try - really feel the pain and passion
Jeremy Guscott
Conveying the tension and drama of each game is the BBC's world-class television team led by the "voice of rugby", Bill McLaren, who is entering his 50th year of rugby commentary this season.

Bill is joined by former Wales captain and British Lion Eddie Butler, and ex-England scrum half Nigel Starmer-Smith, plus co-commentators Gavin Hastings and Philip Matthews.

Fiercely competitive

Jeremy Guscott, star of the world game and a key member of three Grand Slam-winning sides and two World Cup campaigns, once again joins Jonathan Davies, the only man to have captained Union and League teams for his country, to analyse all the action.

Jeremy Guscott said: "I'm looking forward to being right there again; a real part of the huge occasion that is a Six Nations game.

"With the BBC you're as close as you can get to every scrum, line out and try - really feel the pain and passion."

Of the home nations' ties, live TV coverage includes all five of Wales, and Ireland's matches, four of Scotland's and two of England's.

There is also live coverage of four of Italy and France's ties.

Carl Hicks, Grandstand editor said: "BBC Sport is the home of great national sporting events, so it's right that the Six Nations will fire up Grandstand through the first months of another big year of sport.

"Every fan around the country can experience the passion of this fiercely competitive, world-class tournament with the BBC."

BBC Sport Online will be providing audio commentary from all 15 matches in this year's Six Nations Championship.
