Coria has enjoyed a superb start to the 2003 season but, with the European clay-court season over, he could yet find himself slipping down the world rankings.
World ranking: 7
1st round (2001)
2001: 1st round
Whatever the outcome, few players have been more impressive this year than the 21-year-old Argentine.
He has reached three finals, including two in the Masters Series, winning in fine style in Hamburg in the build-up to the French Open.
His style is perfect for clay and he showed in Hamburg his ability to work players around the court and then pick off winners when the opportunity presented itself.
Like many clay-court specialists, he looks set to struggle on Wimbledon's grass surface.
Coria had yet to make his mark on the Grand Slam scene before reaching the semi-finals at the French Open.
He seems to have come of age and will hope to at least make it to the fourth round at Wimbledon.
