13 Meghann Shaughnessy
Has made steady progress over the last three seasons - finishing with a career-high ranking on each occasion. An equally effective doubles player, Shaughnessy is strong and resilient with an all-court game, but this year has made a habit of losing to lower-ranked players. She did well at last year's Wimbledon, upsetting 13th seed Amanda Coetzer and then pushing Kim Clijsters hard before losing 7-6 7-6 in round four. |
