32 Jarkko Nieminen

DOB: 23.07.1981
Nationality: Finnish
World Ranking: 41
Previous Wimbledon results:
2001 :: did not play
2000 :: did not play
1999 :: did not play
1998 :: did not play

Nieminen only qualified as the 32nd and final seed as a result of Tommy Haas' late withdrawal from Wimbledon.

And the Finn remains something of an unknown force on grass, as he will be making his debut at Wimbledon this month.

The 20-year-old is one of the new potential stars on the ATP Tour and earned plaudits for his passage into the third round at Roland Garros in only his second Grand Slam.

Strangely enough it was Haas who accounted for his exit from the French Open, but not before he had ousted Nicolas Lapentti.

His best result of the season arguably came when he beat Marat Safin en route to the final of the Estoril Open.

He ended up losing to David Nalbandian in the final and was also runner-up in the Mallorca Open.
