Arguably the finest returner of the ball the game has ever seen, the 32-year-old remains in tennis' global elite 10 years after he first captured the Wimbledon crown, which was also his first Grand Slam victory.

Since then, he has rewritten the history books, becoming one of only five men - and the only one still playing - to have won all four Grand Slams at least once.

This season he has a new wife, a new son and a new coach - but still the same wide-eyed intensity and desire to win at an age when most players have long since retired to the commentary booth.

His recent Wimbledon record makes impressive reading - finalist in 1999 and beaten semi-finalist in the two years since (losing both times to Pat Rafter).

And an impressive record in the events he has played in 2002 must make him one of the favourites this year.
