John Inverdale

One of BBC Sport's most versatile performers, John Inverdale is your main TV host along with Sue Barker at this year's Championships.

His broadcasting career began in BBC local radio in 1982, before moving to BBC network radio sport in 1985. Three years later, he became presenter of Radio 5's flagship sports show Sport on Five.

On TV John has presented Rugby Special, Sunday Grandstand and the acclaimed sports chat show On Side.

He is also one of the presenters of the BBC's annual Sports Review and in 2000 made his Six Nations Championship presenting debut for Grandstand.

John was also a presenter of BBC TV's award-winning Sydney Olympics coverage.

In radio, John has anchored many major sports events including Olympic Games, World Cups (football and rugby) and several Wimbledon Championships.

In 1997, he was named Sony Broadcaster of the Year for his Five Live drive-time programme.

He is still a regular presenter from major sporting occasions for Five Live, and also hosts the Any Sporting Questions forum.

John is married with two children and has a passion for rugby union, particularly Esher RFC.
