Rusedski stays within touching distance but looks a frustrated man - in complete contrast to the increasingly confident Carraz.

Carraz extends his lead with another powerful service game and Rusedski is unable to make any impression on the return of serve.

Rusedski holds serve, but only just, and he is struggling to stay with the Frenchman.

Rusedski gets to deuce with a spectacular backhand pass from way outside the tramlines and a dubious call clearly upsets Carraz, who makes two errors at the net to hand the Briton the set.

Rusedski opens with his fifth double fault of the match but recovers to move within one game of levelling the match.

Carraz is increasingly frustrating Rusedski by pulling out big serves when it matters - this time two in a row from 30-30.
