Rusedski's game is falling apart and a dreadful volley followed by a wayward backhand give Carraz the double break.

An awesome Carraz service game is completed with an ace and a second serve ace, and the Frenchman is in complete control.

Rusedski stays within touching distance but looks a frustrated man - in complete contrast to the increasingly confident Carraz.

Carraz extends his lead with another powerful service game and Rusedski is unable to make any impression on the return of serve.

Rusedski 1-2 Carraz
Rusedski holds serve, but only just, and he is struggling to stay with the Frenchman.

He may have dropped the second set but Carraz looks as comfortable as ever, holding to love.

Rusedski immediately faces two break points as Carraz continues to dictate play and, despite getting back to deuce, hands the Frenchman a break with a desperate double fault.

Second set:

Rusedski 6-4 Carraz
Rusedski gets to deuce with a spectacular backhand pass from way outside the tramlines and a dubious call clearly upsets Carraz, who makes two errors at the net to hand the Briton the set.

Rusedski 5-4 Carraz
Rusedski opens with his fifth double fault of the match but recovers to move within one game of levelling the match.

Rusedski 4-4 Carraz
Carraz is increasingly frustrating Rusedski by pulling out big serves when it matters - this time two in a row from 30-30.

Rusedski 4-3 Carraz
Unlike in the first set, Rusedski recovers from the disappointment of failing to break serve by producing a superb service game of his own, rounded off with a sublime drop shot.

Rusedski makes Carraz serve out for the set but is embarrassed by his third double fault, followed by a screaming return from the Frenchman that nearly knocks him over.

Carraz backs up the break with a solid service game and Rusedski has made no impression on the opening set so far.

Carraz breaks with a magnificent forehand pass after wasting his first opportunity by firing a backhand long.

After a shaky start Carraz has found his rhythm on serve and levels with a love service game.

Rusedski eases back in front with another straightforward service game and there is no sign of a break.
