Who are you?

Hi I'm Mariem, I'm 15 and my friends called me Maz or sometimes Angel Eyes!

I've been going to the Westway for about five or six years. The best thing about the centre is that you can meet loads of new people.

Apart from tennis there is football, climbing, horse riding and there are access to basketball courts too.

When someone wants to join the club all they have to do is go to reception and pay a pound to be a member.

What do you do at the club?

I play basketball, football, and do trampoline and dance.

Shooting in basketball helps my accuracy in tennis, football helps my stamina and speed; and trampolining is just fun!

Dance is wicked to because I enjoy dancing (contemporary, ballet and street dance).

Any funny moments?

My funniest moment at the tennis club was when I was playing doubles in my squad lesson and my partner served (I was at the net volleying) and the ball hit the back of my head!

I couldn't stop laughing and everyone that was watching couldn't stop laughing too! (He-He)

Does tennis have a good image in the UK?

Tennis is alright, it just makes the UK look posh because loads of people think it's a posh game - BUT IT'S NOT!!

Tennis is a cool game because let's say your angry one day, you can take your anger out when you hit the ball and after you play, your friends will always make you smile.

What's the best thing about your club?

My club is a very good place for socialising and keeping fit. The coaches are also very supportive and always give the players 110%.

Also the coaches always see the best in you and never put you down. THAT'S WHY I LOVE MY CLUB!!!
