The gang in Edinburgh are ready to welcome you

Tennis is alive and well north of the border, just ask anyone at Edinburgh's first City Tennis Club.
Overshadowed by Edinburgh Castle, Meadows, as it's commonly known, is home for many budding Andrew Murrays.
13-year-old Sarah gives you a behind the scenes look at the LTA's club of the year 2003.
Who are you?
Hiya, my name is Sarah and I'm thirteen years of age.
I play tennis at my local tennis club. This club is placed in a big park just a mile away from the Edinburgh city centre. I have been attending this club for about three years.

The great thing about this club is that we have loads of fun tournaments that usually end up with eating cakes!
We all get on amazingly which makes our tennis club strong. We all love having new members and make them welcome straight away. There is no dress code and families are most definitely welcome.
The coaches at the club are mega friendly and I doubt you could find friendlier!
How long have you played tennis?
I have been playing tennis for almost four years. I refused to go but my mum forced me to go to my school tennis club. I definitely do not regret going.
The reasons I play tennis are for social reasons; it keeps me fit and if you are frustrated you can take your anger out on the ball (or the opponent!) and I love feeling that I've achieved something.
Tell us about who you play with?
The usual bunch I play with are Emma, Andrew, Katie and Jenny. I usually play with Jenny in doubles; we make a good team!
As well as tennis, the club organises amazing trips down to London and Wimbledon to watch tennis. These trips are the best and so much fun.

There are some players in the club who are very talented and I believe that if they go on they could go far. Emily is the biggest moaner! Things just sometimes aren't right!
Andrew is known for his hilarious jokes. After speaking to the coach I am apparently the loudest!
Astrid should be praised for she is the best left hander in the club and that is an achievement! Greg is definitely agreed to be the best player in the club!
What other sports do you play?
As well as tennis I ski, play badminton and swim; but none of these I do as much of as tennis which I play at least three times a week.
