Anna Kournikova and former Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek have both withdrawn from next week's French Open with injury.

Still searching for her first career title on the women's tour, Kournikova is in the middle of a slump in form that has seen her drop out of the world's top 50.

The 21-year-old has an abductor muscle problem in her thigh.

Krajicek, who served his way to the Wimbledon title in 1996, is suffering with an elbow injury.

Both players will be replaced at Roland Garros by lucky losers from the qualifying rounds.
