22. Magdalena Maleeva
The 2002 season has been a disappointing one for Maleeva so far, although she did well to reach the last 16 at the Australian Open, losing out to Venus Williams. But the youngest of the three Maleeva sisters (Katerina and Manuela were also once among the world's best) has readily bounced back in her career. Injuries forced her to miss much of the 1998 and 1999 seasons through varying problems but she returned to the game, winning titles in both 1999 and again last year. Was once in the world's top 10 but looks unlikely to feature there again.
