Kremer has taken a number of big-name scalps this season, beating defending champion Amelie Mauresmo in Amelia Island back in April and Jelena Dokic in Tokyo two months earlier.

But her consistency in high-profile tournaments has been lacklustre over the course of her career.

Is a well-known star back in Luxembourg and she carried her country's flag at the opening ceremony of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.

But she has not won a tournament since 2000 when she triumphed in Auckland and Pattaya.
