All the action as Serena Williams beats her sister Venus in straight sets to win the French Open - her second Grand Slam victory.

Venus Williams 5-7 3-6 Serena Williams
Venus weakly nets on the first point and Serena clenches her fists after winning the next point. She works her way to two championship points and when Venus nets a backhand, Serena is the new champion.

Venus Williams 5-7 3-5 Serena Williams
Serena's forehand is still a bit shaky but she shows real determination to battle through and take the game.

Venus Williams 5-7 3-4 Serena Williams
The pressure of nearing victory seems to be getting to Serena and she is beginning to mistime her forehand. A wild forehand finally allows Venus to hold serve for the first time in the set.

Venus Williams 5-7 2-4 Serena Williams
Venus breaks to love - it is the fourth break of serve in a row.

Venus Williams 5-7 1-4 Serena Williams
Normal service is resumed when Venus finds herself at 30-40 and then double faults to hand the game to her sister.

Venus Williams 5-7 1-3 Serena Williams
At 15-0, Venus finally breaks the long run of point won by her sister and suddenly the momentum swings as two errors from Serena give Venus two break points. One goes begging but Serena dumps a ball into the net to allow Venus back into the match.

Venus Williams 5-7 0-3 Serena Williams
Serena has really got into the groove and she races to 0-40 on her sister's serve. A double fault gives Serena a double break and her 10th point in a row.

Venus Williams 5-7 0-2 Serena Williams
Serena shows that she really has the upper hand now by banging down the first ace of the match - and immediately follows it up with the second. She secures the game to love by walloping a forehand down the line.

Venus Williams 5-7 0-1 Serena Williams
Venus loses the first point but battles back into the game. It goes to deuce but then a blistering return off a first serve gives Serena a chance for an early break. Serena cannot take it but wins another opportunity with a powerful angled forehand. She attacks Venus' next serve and is rewarded when Venus, on the back foot, lifts the ball wide.

Venus Williams 5-7 0-0 Serena Williams
Serena loses the first two points and at 15-30, she follows up a superb first serve with a clumsy forehand into the net and gives Venus two break points. But she saves them both with two excellent serves. Venus then nets another easy volley to hand a set point to Serena. A good first serve takes Venus out of the court and allows Serena to clinch the first set with a straightforward forehand.

Venus Williams 5-6 Serena Williams
Venus serves her sixth double fault and then puts the ball long to slump to 0-40. Venus looks to be in control of the next rally and Serena's desperate scramble just clears the net but Venus tries to volley the ball too hard and amazingly hits it wide.

Venus Williams 5-5 Serena Williams
Serena makes it five double faults each on the first point of the game. The decibel level of both players is rising as the business end of the set approaches. Inevitably the game goes to deuce but this time, the server (Serena) holds.

Venus Williams 5-4 Serena Williams
Venus begins the game with her fifth double fault and then nets a backhand to put herself under a bit of pressure. Serena plays the next point aggressively and now it is Venus' turn to be 0-40 down. She saves one break point but then hits a backhand long to lose the game.

Venus Williams 5-3 Serena Williams
The topsy-turvy nature of the match continues as Serena's serve deserts her and she is broken to love.

Venus Williams 4-3 Serena Williams
Venus' level now drops as Serena attempts to up the tempo. At 15-30, Venus hesitates at the net and hits a straightforward volley long. Serena bangs a backhand crosscourt winner on her next return to produces the fourth break of serve in the opening seven games.

Venus Williams 4-2 Serena Williams
Venus is in the ascendency now and gets to 15-40 on her sister's serve but two good first serves from Serena save them. A drop shot from Venus lines up another breaking opportunity - Serena tries the same tactic on the next point but Venus easily reaches the ball and lashes it across the court for a winner.

Venus Williams 3-2 Serena Williams
Serena comes up with a couple of blistering returns to set up a break point. Venus saves it and earns herself a game point after a fantastic rally which sees Serena running from side to side on the baseline to retrieve before finally losing out. After six deuces, Venus finally holds serve.

Venus Williams 2-2 Serena Williams
At 0-15, Serena serves her first double fault of the match and Venus then attacks on the next point to earn three break points. Serena saves two but then double faults to hand the break back.

Venus Williams 1-2 Serena Williams
Venus is struggling with her serve and a double fault gives her sister another break point. It is another game with several deuces but an unforced error from Serena allows Venus to get her name on the scoreboard.

Venus Williams 0-2 Serena Williams
Serena seems to have adopted an aggressive strategy, attacking the net when she can. The game goes to a couple of deuces but Serena wraps up the game with a perfect serve-and-volley point.

Venus Williams 0-1 Serena Williams
Venus serves first. Serena looks edgy on the first point, dumping her first return of the match into the net. But she comes up with a backhand and a forehand down the line to ease any nerves. Venus then serves two double faults to hand an early initiative to her sister.
